The Inselpark Arena does not announce itself through a grand facade.
Once inside, the scale changes. The arena is a functional box, defined by the basketball court at its centre. The hardwood parquet floor — a permanent HARO Sports Flooring installation — is the clear focus.
It is a working venue. The same floor that hosts the Veolia Towers Hamburg in the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) was recently stripped for a mobile court system to stage the 2015 ERGO Supercup. Concerts take place in the same space.
The arena has shifted its identity several times. It opened as the Inselparkhalle, became the edel-optics.de Arena after a sponsorship deal in 2017, and reverted to the Inselpark Arena in 2024. Capacity figures sit at 3,400 for basketball, though some older records point to 3,500. The difference is a matter of counting, not construction.
