Kunduz Cricket Stadium
Kunduz, Afghanistan
The stadium is not ready yet. That is the place for now. The Kunduz Cricket Stadium is a project that moved slowly. Work began on the foundation in twenty sixteen, but the structure did not reach completion until twenty twenty-four. When the turf finally appeared, the venue hosted its first official match in July of that year, a List A contest between Maiwand Champions and Pamir Legends. Pamir Legends, the regional team for Northern Afghanistan, calls this ground home.
The playing surface is natural grass, a pitch that stays balanced for both batters and bowlers until the heat of the game makes it rough and slow. There is no heating system for the track. The size of the crowd it can hold is a matter of debate; the Afghanistan Cricket Board states the capacity is over 7,000, while other estimates place the number lower. There are no official records of attendance. The venue does not host international matches, nor does it have a history of previous names. It is simply the place where the local game is played.
