Pamir Legends

Kunduz Cricket Stadium seats around 6,000. Pamir Legends took it as home when the Afghanistan Cricket Board restructured domestic cricket around franchise sides in 2022, entering the first Green Afghanistan One Day Cup alongside Hindukush Strikers and Maiwand Defenders. The name points to the Pamir and Bamyan regions rather than to any single city, and the roster has drawn on players also associated with the older Band-e-Amir Region side.

That opening one-day tournament ended without a champion crowned outright: rain wiped out the 2023 final against Maiwand Defenders, and the trophy was shared. A year earlier, in the competition's debut edition, Pamir Legends had lost the final to Hindukush Strikers. The fuller answer came in the four-day format. In the 2024–25 Ahmad Shah Abdali Tournament, the side beat Maiwand Champions by 111 runs in the final, a result built in part on Usman Noori's 339 runs across the tournament, a mark that stood as a record.

Individual form has carried the club before. Rahmat Shah captained the side and was its leading run-scorer in 2023. On the bowling side, Abuzar Safi marked his first-class debut in 2025 with a five-wicket haul.

Hindukush Strikers have become the team Pamir Legends measures itself against, having beaten them in the final of the 2025 Wakhan National T20 Cup as well as in that first one-day final. Maiwand Champions, the four-day final opponents, run them close from the other direction.
