LähiTapiola Areena

The LähiTapiola Areena sits in the Hippos district of Jyväskylä. Built in 1982, the arena has seen its footprint shift more than its location. Originally holding 4,812 spectators, the capacity fell to 4,500 before a major renovation between 2007 and 2008. When the doors reopened in 2009, the number had climbed to 4,618, though standing areas were later converted to seats. The venue opened under the name Jyväskylän jäähalli and was known as Synergia-areena before adopting its current sponsor title in 2017.

The arena serves as the home for JYP (Jyväskylän Pallo-Toverit) and their feeder teams, JYP-Akatemia and D-kiekko. The original builder of the 1982 structure is not recorded in available sources, nor is the specific cost of the 2008 renovation. The venue operates at Rautpohjankatu 10.

There is another ground in Turku that shares the sponsor’s name, but the Jyväskylä venue is the primary entity associated with this title in English-language sources.
