Najibullah Tarakai Cricket Ground
Jalalabad, Afghanistan
Najibullah Tarakai Cricket Ground sits in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province. The venue opened recently, with a master plan nearing completion in 2025. It is the result of a deliberate push to embed cricket in the provinces.
The capacity is modest—1,000 spectators—enough for regional tournaments but not for international fixtures. The ACB announced major upgrades for the facility in 2025, including improvements to turf maintenance and facilities. The playing surface is not explicitly defined in available sources, though it hosts professional domestic matches, including the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament and the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament.
The ground is often mentioned alongside the nearby Ghazi Amanullah International Cricket Stadium. Najibullah Tarakai is a domestic hub.
There is no official website dedicated to the ground, and it is primarily listed on third-party databases such as ESPNcricinfo or mentioned in news reports from outlets like Pajhwok Afghan News and The Asian Affairs.
