Nitra Aréna presents a utilitarian face to Jesenského 2, where a small kiosk with a terracotta tiled roof sits near the entrance.
It sits beneath the shadow of Nitra Castle, a position that gives the venue a distinct sense of place within the city.
The roof, added in 1973, changed the nature of the ground from an open-air ice rink to an indoor arena. Subsequent renovations have reduced the seating capacity to 3,600, removing the standing areas that once filled the space.
