The first thing one notices is the roof structure.

The court itself is a fixed Woodflex PERFORMER system, a standard surface for professional European basketball. The ground has always been the home of Limoges CSP, a club that played out of a smaller hall, Salle Mu, before the new facility was commissioned by the club’s leadership. They approached the mayor in 1978 to secure a site, and the result was this building, which opened in November 1981. For many years it was the cathedral of French basketball, hosting the EuroLeague victory in 1993 and Group A matches during EuroBasket 1983.

It has served purposes beyond the hardwood floor as well. Before the city acquired a dedicated concert hall in 2007, this timbered space was the primary venue for major musical acts. It has also staged Davis Cup tennis ties, including a quarter-final in April 1996. A major renovation project is set to restructure the main hall between 2027 and 2029, aiming to increase the capacity of the complex by approximately 4,800 places.
