Surrey Village Cricket Ground
Maggona, Sierra Leone
The ground sits off St Vincent Road, roughly a kilometre from the Indian Ocean and the Maggona railway station. The facility has never been floodlit. The Oval Relief Trust in England funded the project as part of the response to the 2004 tsunami, and the land was provided by Sri Lanka Cricket. The pavilion sits slightly above the level of the surrounding jungle.
The club that calls this place home is Badureliya Sports Club, and they have played first-class matches here since 2012. The venue also hosts school cricket for Saracens Sports Club and Nondescripts Cricket Club. There are two small bungalows on the site used for visiting players. No specific spectator capacity is recorded; the terraces are simple concrete banks without numbers printed on the seats.
Minod Bhanuka scored 342 for Sinhalese Sports Club against Badureliya in January 2016, while Lasith Embuldeniya took nine for 86 for Nondescripts against Saracens in March 2020.
