TM-höllin
Keflavík, Iceland
Formerly: Reykjaneshöllin, Blue-höllin
TM-höllin is not a cathedral of sport so much as a practical box, built to survive the gale that funnels down Reykjanes.
It does not pretend to be anything other than what it is: a place for local sport. TAKK and SUBWAY sit next to each other in the older photos, yellow and blue, while the scoreboard hangs above, an EveryTime unit with a red clock that has not moved since the photo was taken.
The arena opened in 2000, though it has worn different names since then. It was Reykjaneshöllin when the doors first opened, then Blue-höllin for the years when the basketball team was the big attraction, and now it is TM-höllin . The name changes do not change the building.
The place is known locally as "Sunið," which is not a nickname for the team but for the street, a shorthand locals use when they talk about the place they come to watch the handball.
