Wemasto Areena

Wemasto Areena in Lahti is an ice hall first, not a football ground. It sits on Svinhufvudinkatu 29. The arena opened in 1973 as Lahden jäähalli and has been called Isku Areena, before taking the Wemasto name last September 2025. It is the home of the Liiga club Lahden Pelicans, and the ice surface measures 58m by 28m.

Capacity has fallen over the years. The original figure in 1973 was around 5,098, but a 2022 seat count settled on 4,403 after renovations cut space. The D2 grandstand became a standing area for over 1,000 supporters, while the old Fanikatsomo took seats. There are executive suites and a 200-seat restaurant called Ravintola Lämäri, but the stand itself is the main thing.

It has hosted international events, including the 2001 IIHF World U18 Championship. This year it will take the World Ringette Championships in November 2025, and the Team Sweden Women's 4 Nations Tournament in December. Plans are in place for energy-saving work with a heat pump, due in 2025 or 2026. A statue of Erkki Laine stands outside, unveiled in 2017.

The ice is kept at -5°C.
