CAF Women's Champions League 2025/26

The CAF Women's Champions League is the premier continental club competition for women's football in Africa, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Launched in September 2021, the tournament serves as the female counterpart to the men's CAF Champions League. It sits at the top of the African women's club football pyramid, distinguishing itself as the sole continental title for its gender, with no second-tier continental club competition or equivalent super cup established.

Participation is determined by domestic performance and regional qualification. Clubs earn entry by winning their respective national league championships or by securing spots through regional qualifiers across five zones: UNAF, COSAFA, UNIFFAC, WAFU, and CECAFA. Since the 2022 edition, the defending champions also receive a direct spot in the final tournament, alongside a representative from the host nation. This structure ensures a mix of proven winners and regional champions compete for the continental crown.

The final tournament features eight teams divided into two groups of four. The format is centralized, played in a host nation, rather than using home-and-away legs. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals, followed by a third-place match and the final. This single-elimination style in the knockout phase adds intensity to the concluding stages of the season. The competition aims to develop women's football on the continent, providing a high-profile stage for clubs to showcase their talent beyond domestic borders.

Recent history highlights the competitive balance, with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (South Africa) and AS FAR (Morocco) sharing the record for most titles with two wins each. Mamelodi Sundowns claimed the inaugural title in 2021, while AS FAR secured victories in 2022 and 2025. TP Mazembe (DR Congo) added to the list in 2024. The 2025 final was held at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, where AS FAR defeated ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast). Current squads include Gaborone United Ladies, Masar Women, and Edo Queens Women among others vying for qualification.
