Cup (Tunisia) 2025/26

The Tunisian Cup is the country’s primary national knockout football competition. Organised by the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), it stands as the second most important national title after the top-flight league. Founded in 1922, the tournament was originally run by the Ligue de Tunisie de Football Association during the protectorate era before the FTF assumed control following independence.

The format is a straight knockout open to all clubs in Tunisia. The competition begins with preliminary rounds involving amateur and lower-division teams from Ligue 3 and below. In the Round of 32, eight teams from Ligue 1—typically those finishing seventh through twelfth plus two promoted sides—join the winners of those preliminary stages. The top six Ligue 1 clubs enter at the Round of 16. The path to glory leads through quarter-finals and semi-finals to a single-match final.

Victory carries significant rewards. The winner qualifies for the CAF Confederation Cup and plays in the Tunisian Super Cup against the league champions. Espérance Sportive de Tunis is the most successful club with seventeen titles, followed by Club Africain with thirteen and Étoile Sportive du Sahel with ten. Notable records include Club Africain’s four consecutive titles between 1967 and 1970.

The Tunisian Super Cup, a single match between the league and cup winners, was founded in 1960 but has been played sporadically due to scheduling and political reasons. The exact total number of participating clubs varies by season but includes hundreds of amateur and professional teams. Recent winners include Stade Tunisien, who claimed the 2023–24 edition, and Espérance Sportive de Tunis, who won the 2024–25 edition.
