King's Cup (Bahrain) 2025/26

The Bahrain King's Cup stands as the primary domestic knockout football competition in Bahrain. Organised by the Bahrain Football Association, the tournament has operated since 1952. It holds the distinct status of the premier cup within the Bahraini football pyramid, separate from the top-flight Bahraini Premier League and the secondary Bahraini FA Cup.

The format relies on single-leg matches decided by extra time and penalties when necessary. Eligibility is generally restricted to clubs from the Bahraini Premier League and the Bahraini Second Division. The competition carries significant weight in the region, as the winner qualifies for Asian club competitions. In recent seasons, this allocation has seen the cup champion enter the AFC Challenge League, distinct from the league champion’s path to the AFC Champions League Two.

Muharraq SC dominates the competition’s history with 34 titles. Their success spans the various eras of the tournament’s name changes, which reflected the nation’s political evolution from the Amir Cup to the King's Cup. Other notable winners include Al-Ahli SC with nine titles and Riffa SC with seven. The most recent edition was won by Al-Khaldiya SC, who defeated Sitra Club to claim the 2024–25 title.

The tournament has produced memorable results over its long history. Notable finals include Manama SC’s upset victory over dominant Muharraq SC in 2017 and Riffa SC’s decisive win against Busaiteen Club in 2010. More recently, the 2022–23 final between Al-Hala SC and Al-Ahli SC ended in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw. The competition continues to serve as a crucial pathway for clubs seeking continental recognition.
