Ligue 2 (Tunisia) 2026/27

Ligue 2 sits at the second tier of the Tunisian football pyramid, positioned directly below Ligue 1 and above Ligue 3. It operates under the governance of the National Professional Football League (LNFP), which works under the auspices of the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF). The structure features 28 teams split into two geographic groups of 14: North and South. Within each group, teams play a home-and-away round-robin format. The winner of each group earns automatic promotion to Ligue 1, and these two top sides often contest a playoff final to decide the honorary league champion. Teams finishing in 13th and 14th place in their respective groups are relegated to Ligue 3. This level hosts a mix of professional, semi-professional, and amateur clubs, operating with more relaxed regulatory requirements than the top flight. Club Olympique des Transports holds the record for success with seven titles, while Olympique du Kef has won five. The current champion for the 2024–25 season is AS Marsa. The league has no commercial title sponsor and is officially referred to as Ligue Professionnelle 2. Foundational elements trace back to the national championship system established in 1921 by the Ligue Tunisienne de Football Association during the French Protectorate. The specific second-division structure evolved later, formally known as the National Championship 2 from 1955 to 1994 before professionalization.
