Primera División Femenina (Spain) 2026/27

Liga F, currently branded as Liga F, is the top-tier women's football competition in Spain. The league operates a double round-robin format where each team plays 30 matches over the course of the season. Unlike many other domestic competitions, there are no title play-offs; the champion is determined solely by total points accumulated on the table.

Since the 2021–22 season, the league has been fully professional, having been restructured from 18 to 16 clubs at that time. This shift marked a significant change from its previous iterations, which included names such as Liga Nacional Femenina and Superliga Femenina. The competition is organized by the Liga Profesional de Fútbol Femenino under the auspices of the Royal Spanish Football Federation. FC Barcelona Femení holds the record for the most titles, having won 11 championships as of the 2025–26 season. Following their success, Athletic Club has secured five titles, while Levante UD and Atlético Madrid have each claimed four.

The league's structure differs distinctly from the men's La Liga, particularly regarding its promotion and relegation system. Two teams are automatically relegated to the Primera Federación Femenina, while the champion of that second tier earns an automatic promotion spot. A second promotion place is decided through play-offs involving the next best eligible teams. This specific playoff mechanism for promotion contrasts with the men's top flight, which does not feature promotion play-offs for the top tier. The competition was originally founded in 1988 to replace the Copa de la Reina as the official national championship. Current participants include Athletic Club Women, Atlético Madrid Women, Barcelona Women, Deportivo de La Coruña Women, Eibar Women, and Espanyol Women.
