About

The Uzbekistan Super Cup serves as the ceremonial opening fixture for the domestic football calendar. Organised by the Uzbekistan Professional Football League (UzPFL), it brings together the champions of the previous season’s Super League and the winners of the national Cup. A club that secures the domestic double sees the league runner-up take their place in the final. Since 2025, the event has carried the official title of the UZCARD Super Cup.

The tournament operates as a single-match contest, typically staged in late winter. Regular time concludes the contest; if scores remain level, the result is determined by a penalty shoot-out, with no extra period played in recent years. The fixture carries significant prestige as a standalone annual event, distinct from the league and cup competitions it precedes. It does not influence promotion, relegation, or league standings.

Nasaf stands as the most successful club in the competition’s modern history, having claimed the trophy four times. Their victories came in 2016, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Pakhtakor follows with two titles, won in consecutive years, while Lokomotiv Tashkent also holds two victories. Other winners include Navbahor, Bunyodkor, and Neftchi. Pakhtakor has appeared in the final more often than any other side, reaching the match seven times.

The event has experienced periods of discontinuity. After its inception in 1999, the competition was suspended for over a decade, resuming in 2014. Further interruptions occurred in 2017, 2018, and 2020. The venue for the final varies annually, though Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent has hosted the majority of matches since the revival. The all-time top scorer is Dragan Ćeran, who netted three goals across different editions.

The largest margin of victory remains a 4–0 win, recorded by Lokomotiv Tashkent in 2015. The highest attendance registered for a final stands at 18,171 spectators, witnessed at the 2019 match. The competition’s structure and history reflect its role as a premier showcase for Uzbek football, highlighting the dominance of specific clubs while celebrating the variety of winners throughout its existence.
