The Bahraini Super Cup is the annual curtain-raiser to domestic football in Bahrain, organized by the Bahrain Football Association. This single-match contest determines a super cup title, distinct from the round-robin league or the multi-stage King’s Cup knockout tournament. It is played at a neutral venue, typically the Bahrain National Stadium or Khalifa Sports City Stadium, with ties decided by extra time and penalty shootouts. The participants are the winners of the previous season’s Bahraini Premier League and the Bahraini King’s Cup. When a team wins the double, the league runner-up replaces them as the opponent. No promotion or relegation is associated with the competition, and it has not carried a commercial title sponsor in recent editions. Al-Muharraq is the most successful club with four titles (1995, 2006, 2013, 2018). Al-Khaldiya SC is the current holder, having won the 2024 edition (defeating Al-Hala 2-0) and the 2025 edition (defeating Al-Ahli 5-2). Other winners include Al-Najma (2), Riffa (2), Al-Hidd (2), East Riffa (1), and Manama (1). The competition was first held in 1995, with Al-Muharraq winning the inaugural edition, though it was held irregularly. It was revived in 2006, with RSSSF records confirming the 2006 final as the start of the modern era, and has been held consistently since 2013, with gaps in 2009–2012 and 2020–2021.
