The West Bank Premier League is the principal football competition for clubs in the northern half of the Palestinian territories. Founded in 1944, the tournament has operated under various structures since then, with the modern format established in 1977 and full professional status introduced in the 2010–11 season. It runs alongside the Gaza Strip Premier League as one of two top-tier divisions in the Palestinian football pyramid, organized by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA).
The league features twelve clubs, including Ahli Al-Khalil, Al-Birah Institution, Al-Sawahreh, Hilal Al-Quds, Jabal Al Mukaber, and Markez Balata. Teams compete in a double round-robin schedule, meaning each side plays every opponent twice for a total of 22 matches. There are no groups or play-offs for the championship; the winner is determined by points accumulated over the regular season. The competition also facilitates movement between tiers, with the bottom two teams relegated to the West Bank Division 1 and the top two or three teams from that second tier promoted.
Shabab Al-Khalil SC holds the record for the most titles with seven. The most recent champion was Jabal Al-Mukaber, who won the 2022–23 edition. The tournament has faced significant interruptions, with the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons cancelled due to regional instability and the war in Gaza. A defining characteristic of the league is its geographical separation from the Gaza Strip Premier League, a result of political and geographical barriers. While the Palestinian Cup unifies teams from both regions in a two-legged final, the league titles are decided separately within each territory. There is no unified national league final played between the West Bank and Gaza champions. Each region crowns its own champion independently. There is no widely documented commercial title sponsor for the league.
