Shabab Al Khaleel

Fahed Attal built his goalscoring record at Shabab Al Khaleel. The club that shaped him is older than the state its players represent: founded in 1943, it stands as the oldest football club in the West Bank, a fact its nickname, Al-Ameed — "the Dean" — makes plain without needing explanation.

Matches against Ahli Al-Khalil are known simply as the Hebron Derby. Four West Bank Cups followed, along with the Yasser Arafat Cup twice and a single Super Cup in 2013.

That run of success has not come without interruption. The First Intifada broke out in 1987 and forced the league to abandon its 1986–87 season altogether, a reminder of how closely the club's history has tracked events well beyond football. A West Bank Cup final in 2009 was called off before it could be finished.
