BK Svitavy — MS Academy: 101:79, 1. Liga

BK Svitavy beat MS Academy 101 to 79 in the 1. liga on Saturday evening. The hosts needed no more than that to settle the matter, and by then the result was already looking clear. Fourteen thousand at the arena, and the crowd stayed until the final whistle.

They sit fourth with eleven wins from eighteen games, while Academy are tenth, four victories and fourteen defeats. The gap in the table tells its own story, and to be fair, tonight's score confirmed what the standings had been saying all season.

We had called a home win at 65 per cent confidence before kick-off. And here's the thing, it came off: Svitavy moved through the quarters without letting Academy get close, closing the game out when it mattered. Not a thriller, but a professional performance from the hosts.

Recent form backs up the result. Svitavy won 93 to 89 against Brno U23 last week, while Academy lost 70 to 79 at Olomouc on Wednesday. Those two results, taken together, show why the home side did not need to search for answers.

The win keeps Svitavy in touch with the teams above them, and Academy remain in the lower half with little to play for. A straightforward evening, nothing more, nothing less.
