Gladsaxe made short work of BM Hvidovre on Tuesday evening, cruising to a 102-70 victory in the Basketligan. The hosts looked shell-shocked from the opening tip and never really recovered. By then it was clear this wouldn't be a contest.
What stood out immediately was the shooting accuracy. Gladsaxe hit 39 of 69 field goals while Hvidovre managed just 21 from 67 attempts. And here's the thing — it wasn't even particularly close in the first half. Gladsaxe were simply outplaying everyone on the floor.
The rebounding battle told a different story entirely. Gladsaxe pulled down 47 boards to Hvidovre's 22, with 13 offensive rebounds giving them multiple chances at the rim. Hvidovre's 7 offensive boards couldn't keep them in the game for long. To be fair, Gladsaxe's defensive rebounding was equally impressive at 34.
Ball movement was where the gulf between the sides became most apparent. Gladsaxe recorded 23 assists compared to Hvidovre's 13, showing far better team play. Both teams coughed up 20 turnovers, but Gladsaxe's 13 steals versus Hvidovre's 7 made the difference in transition opportunities.
Three-point shooting was surprisingly even, with Gladsaxe making 8 of 25 attempts and Hvidovre converting 9 from 29. Free throws didn't sway the result either — Gladsaxe hit 16 of 26 while Hvidovre made 19 of 29. The game was won inside the arc.
This result leaves Gladsaxe looking solid after their 78-88 loss to Verelö BBK on Monday. Hvidovre, meanwhile, have now lost four of their last five, including that heavy defeat to Bears Academy back in April. The gap in quality is becoming harder to ignore.
