Budućnost Podgorica and Bokelj played out a 0:0 draw in the First League's fifth round on Sunday. The match ended without a goal despite both sides managing to test each other's goalkeepers. To be fair, neither team created enough clear-cut chances to separate themselves.
The yellow cards began to accumulate as the game settled into a physical rhythm. By then it was clear this would be a tight affair, with fouls breaking up any attacking momentum. Three bookings for the hosts and one for the visitors told the story of a match where discipline mattered more than flair.
Statistics show the hosts carried more of the play, winning 51 per cent of possession and registering five shots on target compared to Bokelj's one. Yet those figures did not translate into a goal. The visitors were second to everything in attack and could not find a way through.
With this result Budućnost remain sixth on five points after five games, while Bokelj hold third place on eight points. The draw extended both sides' unbeaten run without adding to their winning tally. They are running out of games to make up ground if either side wants to push for a higher finish.
