Honvéd and MTK played out a 3:3 draw in the NB I regular season on Saturday, a result that leaves the hosts in 11th place on six points and keeps MTK in sixth with nine.
And here's the thing about this one — it never settled. Szamosi gave Honvéd the early lead at 15 minutes, but Somogyi levelled before half-time, and Jurek's strike just before the break put MTK ahead. By then you could sense the tempo was already spinning.
Kerezsi restored MTK's advantage after 53 minutes, and Csontos found the net from the spot at 87, but Baki went off early in stoppage time with a red card. To be fair, the visitors didn't let it slip — Bognar tapped in at 90+6 to salvage a point.
The statistics tell a familiar story. MTK held 57 per cent possession and attempted more attacks, yet Honvéd's 111 compared with the visitors' 122 barely separated them. Both sides registered five shots on target, but MTK's 45 per cent accuracy versus Honvéd's 31 per cent meant the visitors created more from what they had.
Honvéd were winless in three — a draw against Kisvárda followed by defeats to Osijek and a draw at home to MTK now — while MTK extended a mixed run that includes a 3:0 victory over Zalaegerszeg and a 1:1 at Komárno.
