Inter Bratislava rout Galanta 3-0 in Second League
Inter Bratislava made light work of Galanta with a 3-0 victory in the second league on Saturday. The hosts added another three points to their tally, while Galanta's winless run in this fixture stretched to two matches. To be fair, Inter Bratislava looked comfortable from the first whistle, controlling the tempo without overcomplicating things. And here's the thing — they didn't need much to put the result beyond doubt.
M. Kusnir opened the scoring in the twenty-ninth minute, finishing a move that had been building since Inter Bratislava won their first corner. S. Svetlik doubled the lead just after the break, netting in the fiftieth minute before adding a second three minutes later. V. Tatar sealed it in the fifty-eighth, capitalising on Galanta's inability to handle Inter Bratislava's movement in the final third. By then, the result was never really in question, though Galanta manager N. Bangs and T. Kiss came on in the fifty-sixth in a bid to change the game.
The statistics tell a story of efficiency over dominance. Inter Bratislava registered nine shots on target compared to Galanta's three, while both sides recorded ninety-four attacks. Possession was split almost evenly at forty-eight per cent to fifty-two, but Galanta's fifty-two per cent meant little with only three shots finding the target. Inter Bratislava also won six corners to Galanta's four, and their goalkeeper faced just three goal kicks compared to Galanta's three — a sign of sustained pressure rather than sporadic forays forward.
The result keeps Inter Bratislava in tenth place with eight points from seven games, while Galanta remain eighth on ten points. Both sides have experienced three defeats so far this season, though Galanta's three wins give them a slight edge. Inter Bratislava's recent form has been mixed — a 3-0 win over Bytča preceded this, but they've also lost to Žilina II and Povazská Bystrica. Galanta's last five include two draws against Inter Bratislava and Galanta themselves, suggesting this fixture rarely produces surprises. And here's the thing — when one team shoots nine times on target and the other three, the outcome is rarely a mystery.
