Lazne Kingsvarth women claimed a 27:25 victory over Poruba in the MOL League on Friday, ending the visitors' perfect start to the campaign. The home side, sitting sixth with four points from three matches, edged past the league leaders who had been unbeaten in all five of their recent outings.

The result shifts the table dynamic considerably. Poruba move to two points clear at the top, but their dominance has been interrupted. By then, the away side had won five straight games, including a 29:28 victory over Dunajska-Steda just last week. The home team's form had been patchy — two wins and a loss in their last five — yet they found a response when it mattered.

We had called this one in advance. The confidence was 70 per cent for a home win, and it held up. The hosts work the channels well in attack and, crucially, kept their side in it when the pressure mounted. Poruba, for all their recent success, looked a touch vulnerable against a determined opposition.
