Lobos Platedos beat Abejas 91:87 in the LNBP on 16 September 2026. The hosts held firm despite a late surge from the visitors and extended their recent winning streak. Two wins in a row for the home side after back-to-back losses the week before.

Both sides shot from distance, but the hosts were more efficient from three-point range. They made 11 of 30 attempts compared to Abejas' 14 out of 33. Lobos Platedos also took advantage at the free-throw line, converting 18 of 23 tries while the visitors managed only 13 of 17.

We had tipped the hosts to win and the prediction came through. The difference came from ball control: Lobos Platedos turned the ball over just seven times, while Abejas coughed it up 15 times. Those extra possessions translated into the four-point margin.

On the boards the visitors dominated, grabbing 37 rebounds to 27. Abejas collected 28 defensive boards against 19 for the hosts, but those extra defensive rebounds did not stop them from losing ground on the offensive end. Lobos Platedos pulled eight offensive rebounds and used them to create second-chance opportunities.

The result moves Lobos Platedos into a better position after two defeats against Freseros de Irapuato on 11 and 12 September. Abejas dropped another game on 12 September, this time 74:86 to Gambusinos, extending a run of mixed results since their narrow 76:75 win over Fersa Regia de Monterrey on 30 August.
