Traktor beat Gol Gohar 1:0 in the Persian Gulf Pro League on Saturday, a result that extends their unbeaten run and keeps them clear at the top of the table. The match ended 1:0 after A. Hosseinzadeh's goal just before the break, and the hosts saw it out despite a second-half surge from the visitors.
It was a tight affair, and here's the thing — the decisive moment came right at the half-hour mark, though I mean the forty-fifth minute. Hosseinzadeh found space and finished cleanly, and by then Traktor had already established a rhythm. Gol Gohar pushed back hard, but the home side's defence held firm.
We were backing the hosts at 58 per cent confidence, and the result confirmed that assessment. Traktor's consistency is visible in their recent form — five matches without defeat, including wins over Persepolis and Sepahan. Gol Gohar, meanwhile, have not won since their third game of the season, and that run of three defeats in succession told on them.
Discipline was an issue for the visitors, who picked up four yellow cards compared to Traktor's single booking. The cards came thick and fast around the interval, with Alizadeh, Alishah and Khalilzadeh all seeing the referee's card in the space of six minutes. Traktor's Ghazipour was the only other card of the match, booked in the seventy-third minute.
Substitutions came in waves after the hour mark, with both sides looking to change the dynamic. Traktor brought on Kazemayn, Strkalj and Ben Hassine, while Gol Gohar introduced Ehsanifar, Hosseini, Zendehrouh and Strkalj. The changes did not shift the balance — Traktor kept their clean sheet and their lead.
The result moves Traktor further clear at the summit, now on 16 points from six games. Gol Gohar remain in eighth place on seven points, and the gap between them is widening. With five wins and a draw, Traktor have not lost a match this campaign.
