UTK Fall to Comesiántes Unidos in Clausura Six
Comesiántes Unidos secured a 1:3 victory over UTK in the sixth round of the Clausura tournament, played at Estadio Eres de San Ramon on 22 August 2026. The hosts took an early lead through Rodrigo Vilca in the fifth minute, then extended it shortly before half-time when David Camacho struck in the 27th. By then the complexion of the match had shifted decisively after Manuel Ganoza received a red card in the 36th minute, leaving UTK to chase the game with ten men. The visitors capitalised on the numerical advantage, netting two penalties after the break to complete the turnaround.
The turning point came when the referee awarded a penalty in the 52nd minute following a VAR check, though Juan Rodríguez failed to convert. Five minutes later, however, Vilca stepped up again and scored from the spot to restore UTK's lead at 3:1. Comesiántes Unidos responded with their own penalty in the 71st minute, Maximiliano Pérez converting after Fabio Rojas had been awarded a spot-kick in the 68th. Three substitutions were made by UTK at the interval—Gilmar Paredes, Marlon de Jesús and Josuee Herrera came on—but the change could not stem the flow of goals.
UTK dominated possession and created more attacking opportunities, but Comesiántes Unidos were more clinical in the final third. The visitors registered 11 shots on target compared to UTK's four, and their accuracy rate of 50 per cent stood in stark contrast to the hosts' 21 per cent. While UTK generated 76 attacks and 15 key passes, they managed only one big chance, whereas the visitors created five. The statistics tell a familiar story—many shots with one goal means chances went begging for the hosts.
VAR played a significant role throughout the contest, with two goals cancelled for offside in the 40th and 42nd minutes, and another penalty appeal rejected in the 89th minute. The hosts' goalkeeper made eight saves to the visitors' three, reflecting the pressure UTK faced after going down to ten men. Joshua Cantt picked up a yellow card in the 57th minute, adding to the disciplinary tally for the hosts.
The result leaves UTK rooted to 18th place with 15 points from 24 games, while Comesiántes Unidos move to 11th with 29 points. The visitors have won seven of their matches this season, compared to four victories for UTK, and the five-point gap between them in the table now stretches to 14. For UTK, the defeat extends a run of mixed results that includes three losses in their last five matches.
