Kotka defeated UUT-Korihait Uusikaupunki 100-89 in the Korisliiga on Saturday evening. The away side moved clear at the top of the table with five wins from five games. The hosts remain in 11th place after their fourth defeat of the season.

We had tipped the home side to edge it at 54 per cent confidence, but the game unfolded differently. The visitors found their rhythm early and kept their side in it with consistent scoring. The hosts couldn't find a way back into it once the gap opened up.

Kotka's recent form has been impressive, including a 102-81 win over Salon Vilpas Vikings last week. They have not dropped a point in five games and are running out of games to test themselves. Korihait have struggled for consistency, losing three of their last four matches.

The result means the leaders hold their nerve away from home. The hosts are now four points behind the teams above them with only one win to show for five games.
