Hadj Moussa back in Feyenoord fold for Barcelona clash

After a transfer saga with Al-Ittihad collapsed, Anis Hadj Moussa trained again and rejoins Feyenoord's squad for the Champions League opener against Barcelona.

Anis Hadj Moussa trained with the rest of the Feyenoord squad this week, three days after being left out of the matchday party for the Eredivisie fixture at NEC.

The winger had turned up late to two sessions last week. Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Feyenoord's coach, said that had nothing to do with form and everything to do with a transfer that never went through: Al-Ittihad had tabled a multi-million offer, but Feyenoord rejected the Saudi club's terms after the deal arrived without a bank guarantee.

Van Bronckhorst confirmed the matter is now closed.

By all accounts the two sides spoke on the Sunday after the NEC win, which Feyenoord took 24-year-old winger's absence in their stride. Hadj Moussa then addressed the dressing room himself before travelling with the squad to Spain on Tuesday for Wednesday's Champions League opener against Barcelona.

Van Bronckhorst named the game as the ideal stage for Hadj Moussa to let his football answer for him, with no bigger match on the calendar to draw a line under a difficult week.

Seventeen-year-old Jerayno Schaken also travels with the squad after scoring on his debut against NEC last weekend, while Jivayno Zinhagel misses out on the group for Barcelona.
