Bayern rout Bodo/Glimt, Como stun Leipzig on debut

Bayern Munich opened their Champions League campaign with a 5-0 win over Bodo/Glimt, while Como marked their first-ever appearance in the competition with a 4-1 rout of RB Leipzig.

Vincent Kompany's side were held before the break in Munich, but the game turned two minutes into the second half when Jamal Musiala smashed in the opener. Harry Kane headed a second on the hour — his 34th goal in 39 Champions League appearances for Bayern — before Alphonso Davies added a third with a powerful half-volley. Michael Olise finished the scoring with a late brace.

Como's route to this fixture was not straightforward. The club had to race to get their lakeside Stadio Sinigaglia upgraded to UEFA standard in time; failure would have meant home games played 200km away at Sassuolo's ground. Cesc Fabregas's side were spared that and made the most of the night in front of their own fans. Marti Baturina put them ahead in the 15th minute, Taso Douvikas doubled the lead, and Assane Diao made it 3-0 early in the second half. Andrija Maksimovic pulled one back for Leipzig before Maximo Perrone wrapped up the 4-1 win in stoppage time.

Slavia Prague suffered a late collapse at home to Lens, losing 3-2 after going down to ten men just after half-time when Mikulas Konecny was sent off following a VAR review. Danijel Sturm put Slavia ahead soon after, and Abdallah Sima's equaliser set up a grandstand finish. Sturm restored the home side's lead in the 88th minute, only for Florian Thauvin to level in the 91st and Ruben Aguilar to snatch victory for Lens in the closing seconds.

Roma led Fenerbahce through Bryan Cristante's 39th-minute finish, his first Champions League goal in the competition proper 15 years after making his debut in it as a 16-year-old with AC Milan. Fenerbahce, back in the group phase after an 18-year absence, equalised three minutes into the second half when Mason Greenwood set up Archie Brown, who clipped the ball past Mile Svilar.
