FIFA Slaps Sochi With Transfer Ban Over Stojić Deal

FIFA has hit Sochi with a transfer ban after the club fell behind on payments owed to Maccabi Tel Aviv for the transfer of defender Nemanja Stojić.

The ban, imposed on 9 September, blocks Sochi from registering new players for three transfer windows. According to Match TV, the sanction was triggered by an overdue instalment tied to Stojić's move from the Israeli club.

Stojić joined Sochi in September 2025 on a contract running to the summer of 2028. The Serbian defender has made seven appearances in the Pari League this season but has yet to open his scoring account for the side.

A ban of this length leaves Sochi unable to strengthen the squad through three windows, a significant constraint for a club already fielding the player at the centre of the dispute.
