Tiago Gabriel signs new Lecce contract until 2030

Lecce have tied down Tiago Gabriel until 2030, with the new deal confirmed by the club and first reported by Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old Portuguese centre-back moved to Lecce in the middle of the 2024/25 season from Estrela da Amadora, where he made his professional debut. He came up through Sporting and Vitória de Setúbal before that spell on the coast at Estrela.

Two goals in five games this season already match his tally from 39 appearances last term. Barcelona and Bayern Munich were credited with interest in him over the winter; in the summer his name was linked with Milan and Fulham.

Estrela da Amadora, the club that gave him his start, currently sit sixth in the Primeira Liga on 10 points from six matches, with Abraham Ayomide Marcus, Leandro Antonetti López and Ianis Ilie Stoica sharing the scoring load on five goals apiece.
