Christian Pulisic ended a 266-day wait for a Milan goal in the 3-0 win over Lecce, scoring 14 minutes in after controlling Strahinja Pavlovic's long ball and finishing first-time past Wladimiro Falcone. It was his first Milan start of the season, and he was named Player of the Match.

The 28-year-old's last goal for the club had come against Hellas Verona on 28 December, meaning roughly 19 matches and 39 Serie A shots without scoring before Sunday. La Gazzetta dello Sport called the finish "truly spectacular".

Pulisic had already shown signs of recovering form before the goal, setting up Diego Moreira against Lazio and featuring against SL Benfica after a spell disrupted by injury.

Milan is reported to have set a deadline for a decision on Pulisic's contract renewal, with the club preparing calls on several key players at the same time. A run of goals and starts, coming after such a long drought, may strengthen his position in those talks.
