Ben White injury latest ahead of Arsenal's Brighton clash

White went off at half-time in Arsenal's 2-0 win at Sunderland with what looked like a groin problem, then sat out the 4-2 Carabao Cup win over Ipswich Town in midweek, with Martin Zubimendi covering at right-back. Asked about it ahead of Brighton, Arteta said: "All good. We have another training session."

Jurrien Timber, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie were also under scrutiny after missing the Ipswich tie. Arteta put Hincapie's absence down to fatigue and said all three would be assessed once the squad trained on Friday afternoon. "Everyone is fine," he said. "We still have another training session this afternoon, but I'm very optimistic about all of them. They all want to be involved, and we'll use the final session to make sure they're ready."

White and Timber have effectively shared one shirt for the past two seasons, and Arteta's plan depends on having both fit. Timber, back after a groin injury of his own that kept him out since March, replaced him at the break there and made his first appearance of the campaign.

A fresh injury to either full-back would test the depth that has let him rotate Riccardo Calafiori, Hincapie and Myles Lewis-Skelly on the left without much strain.
