Mbappé Leaves Nike to Become Face of On

Kylian Mbappé has ended his relationship with Nike and signed with On, the Swiss sportswear company, becoming the new face of its push into football.

The Athletic first reported the move, saying Mbappé agreed terms with On after his Nike contract expired this summer. He turned down Adidas and Puma, both expecting a move for a player of his profile, in favour of a brand still building its name in the sport. The financial terms have not been disclosed, but the deal includes an equity stake for the 27-year-old, putting him alongside Roger Federer as a shareholder rather than simply a sponsored athlete.

Thierry Henry, who has worked privately as On's football consultant since 2025, is said to have played a part in persuading Mbappé to make the switch once his Nike deal ran out.

On already sponsors tennis players including Iga Świątek and Ben Shelton; football boots mark new territory for the brand, and Mbappé's arrival is its most significant signing yet in the sport.

The move comes at a good moment for Mbappé on the pitch. He has scored eight goals and added two assists in seven appearances for Real Madrid this season, and leads France's scoring in World Cup qualifying with 11 goals as Les Bleus sit top of their group on nine points from three matches. Real Madrid are second in La Liga, three points behind leaders Barcelona, and travel to Atlético Madrid on 20 September.
