Kamil Grabara suffers ACL tear at Juventus
Days after a clean-sheet debut against NEC Nijmegen, Juventus goalkeeper Kamil Grabara has ruptured his right knee's ACL and faces months out.
Kamil Grabara has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, Juventus have confirmed, days after his first appearance for the club.
The Poland goalkeeper twisted the joint during Tuesday afternoon's training session in Turin. Scans at the J Medical centre confirmed the ACL tear, and Juventus say he will undergo orthopaedic consultations in the coming days to settle on treatment. No return date has been set, though a full ACL rupture typically keeps a player out for the best part of a season.
Grabara joined on loan with an option to buy from VfL Wolfsburg on 25 August and made his Juventus debut only last Thursday, keeping a clean sheet in a 5-0 Europa League win over NEC Nijmegen and setting up Nico Gonzalez's opener with a long ball out of defence. Luciano Spalletti praised the display afterwards.
