Granit Xhaka faces probe over forged Covid certificate
Swiss police in Lucerne are investigating the Sunderland captain over suspected forged vaccination certificates; his spokesman says he is fully cooperating.

Swiss media, including the newspaper Blick, reported that Xhaka obtained the certificates from his doctor without actually being vaccinated. The doctor is also under investigation, on suspicion of issuing false documents.
A spokesman for the Lucerne prosecutor's office, Simon Kopp, said the inquiry must establish "whether Xhaka broke the law by deceiving officials to get a fake certificate or forging documents."
Blick reported that Xhaka had Covid-19 in 2021 and again in early 2022, and that he had previously refused to be vaccinated.
Xhaka is cooperating fully with investigators. Bantle cited medical records showing vaccinations in January and November 2022.
