Rangers secured a 1-0 victory over Celtic at Celtic Park, with Ryan Naderi scoring the only goal in the 33rd minute.

It was the second Old Firm defeat in a week for Celtic. Rangers won 3:0 at Ibrox in the League Cup seven days earlier, a result that put them into the semi-finals. In between, Celtic lost 3:1 at home to Ferencvaros in the Europa League, which makes three defeats in a row.

Rangers pair Jota Filipe and Youssef Chermiti missed the game through injury. Chermiti is a 22-year-old forward who has scored 11 goals for Rangers since joining in summer 2024.

Celtic pressed early, winning a run of corners and testing the Rangers back line. At 24 minutes it was 0:0. McInnes kept his Rangers XI unchanged. Rodgers moved Celtic to a back three with Auston Trusty, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales. Kasper Hogh, Haissem Hassan, Oliver Sorensen and James Forrest were left out.

Record has Celtic still top of the Scottish Premiership after seven rounds with 18 points, and Rangers two behind.

The away end remained empty, with the club citing security concerns.
