Radimov: Zenit Would Be Lower Without Sobolev's Goals
Former Zenit midfielder Vladislav Radimov says Alexander Sobolev, with 7 goals in 9 RPL games, has proved his critics wrong as Zenit sit fifth in the table.
Zenit forward Alexander Sobolev has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 9 Russian Premier League matches this season, and former Zenit midfielder Vladislav Radimov says the club would be lower in the table without him.
Radimov pointed to the doubts that followed Sobolev last year, when, in his words, the player was written off.
"Radimov backed him anyway. He scores," Radimov said. "How much they said: 'Why do you need him? They would have been better off spending that money on something else.' He’s pulling his weight. And if it were not for him, Zenit probably would not be where they are now."
