Parma defender Dominik Drobnic has successful wrist surgery
The 19-year-old Slovakia U21 defender broke a scaphoid in the win over Genoa and could be fit for Parma's Serie A trip to champions Inter on 10 October.
Parma defender Dominik Drobnic has had successful surgery on a fractured scaphoid in his left wrist, the club has announced.
The injury came in the 2-1 home win over Genoa at the weekend. Drobnic fell, an opponent accidentally trod on his arm, and he played on with it strapped. Tests afterwards showed the fracture.
Professor Norman Della Rosa performed the operation at the Policlinico di Modena, with members of the Parma medical staff present.
The 19-year-old, who plays for Slovakia Under-21 and has been in the Parma academy since 2023, is expected to use the break for international duty to recover fully. Parma's next fixture after it is the trip to reigning champions Inter on 10 October.
If the recovery runs to plan, Drobnic would be available for that game. The club has given no return date beyond the resumption of the Serie A season.
