Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly miss England training ahead of Czechia

Ezri Konsa and Nico O'Reilly, who both played the full 90 minutes of England's 3-2 defeat by Spain at Wembley on Saturday, missed group training on Monday. England play Czechia in the UEFA Nations League at Fortuna Arena in Prague on Tuesday evening.

The FA said in a statement that the two were working apart from the squad:

«Ezri Konsa and Nico O’Reilly are following their own individual programmes at Tottenham Hotspur‘s training ground this morning. All other 22 players are involved in group training ahead of the squad departing for Prague this afternoon».

Neither has been ruled out. O'Reilly, the Manchester City left-back, made his first goal involvement for England against Spain, with a cross that Harry Kane headed in.

Lewis Hall of Newcastle United is the likeliest replacement at left-back, according to Yahoo Sports. He has not played for England since the March friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.

At centre-back, Tuchel can turn to Jarrad Branthwaite, who made his England debut against Spain, or to Trevoh Chalobah, an unused substitute on Saturday. Trent Alexander-Arnold would then be a candidate on the right. Yahoo adds that Tuchel must also decide whether to start Jude Bellingham.

The squad was already short. Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford and Tino Livramento all withdrew before the Spain game.

Prague is the first of two away fixtures on this break. England travel to Croatia on Saturday, then host Czechia at Wembley next week. With that schedule, Tuchel may choose to rest one or both players on Tuesday even if they are declared fit.
