Tyrick Mitchell Draws Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea Interest

Tyrick Mitchell is entering the final year of his Crystal Palace contract with no renewal signed, and Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all reported to be watching. The Caught Offside website links the three clubs with the left-back. One headline in the cluster puts the price at £25m.

Palace hold the right to extend the deal by a further year, according to Football Insider. The club still want a new contract. Chairman Steve Parish said recently that there are "one or two" players Palace are keen to tie down, and Football Insider's sources name Mitchell as first in line. Talks are scheduled before the turn of the year.

The 27-year-old England international has made 250 appearances and scored 26 goals since his debut in 2020. He has won the FA Cup, the Community Shield and the Conference League with Palace. He scored twice against Fulham recently and, by all accounts, remains a fixture in the side under Patrick Vieira.

TEAMtalk reports that "a January move is growing more likely". It says Palace are "doing everything they can" to secure a new deal, but that interest from elsewhere "could turn his head". It adds that United are keeping a particularly close eye on the situation.

On Liverpool, it says Milos Kerkez is still making mistakes and that supporters want another left-back. The transfer window is shut, so nothing can happen before January. Liverpool are also without a permanent sporting director after Richard Hughes left for Al Hilal earlier this month, with his duties split among senior figures until a successor is named.

If Mitchell signs the new contract Palace are preparing, the interest may come to nothing. If talks drag into the new year, his contract situation could give the bigger clubs their opening in January.
