Chelsea eye Zubimendi as Fernández replacement

Chelsea are ready to offer around €70m for Arsenal midfielder Martín Zubimendi in January, with the Spaniard already agreeing to the move.

Real Sociedad are keen on Martín Zubimendi as a replacement for Enzo Fernández, and the Spaniard has already agreed to the move, according to El Nacional.

The club are prepared to offer around €70m for the 27-year-old midfielder in January, with Arsenal still to be convinced.

Real Sociedad see him as cover for the gap left by Fernández, who left for Manchester City. Zubimendi is reportedly keen to leave Real Sociedad in the winter window because of a lack of playing time, and Chelsea head coach Enzo Fernández knows him well from their time together at Real Sociedad's B side.

His contract at Real Sociedad runs to June 2030, and his market value is put at €75m — above the fee Chelsea are said to be ready to offer, leaving room for Real Sociedad to resist a January sale even with the player already on board.
