Anthony Dwight Herbert

Brooklyn born, Anthony Herbert built his career in Europe before it took him back across the Atlantic to represent Trinidad and Tobago. He began abroad with FC Haka in Finland, where two seasons in the Veikkausliiga also brought a pair of appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League, a rare continental line on the resume of a player who would go on to make his name in North American lower divisions.

Herbert returned to the United States in 2024, joining New Mexico United in the USL Championship, where he made 27 appearances without scoring. A move to Las Vegas Lights FC followed in July 2025, and it was there that he opened his goalscoring account, finding the net once in ten matches. That spell was brief: by January 2026 he had signed for Indy Eleven, also in the USL Championship, where he has made six appearances and scored once.

His international story took shape gradually. Herbert first appeared for Trinidad and Tobago's under-18 side in 2016, then waited until September 2022 for his first call-up to the senior team, where he has so far made a single appearance. He remains part of the squad's plans, having been named for friendlies against South Korea and Russia.

Across a career split between Finland and the American lower leagues, Herbert has also featured in domestic cup competitions, including the Finnish Cup with Haka and the US Open Cup with New Mexico United, adding depth to a playing record built more on steady defensive work than on goals.
