About the player
CSKA Sofia's number 17 has not missed much football since arriving from Argentina. Signed in September 2025 on a contract running to 2028, he went straight into the side and made it through 26 league appearances in his first season in Bulgaria, adding five outings in the domestic cup.
Ángelo Martino came through the academy at Atlético de Rafaela, the club in his home city in Argentina, and spent four years in its first team before Talleres signed him in February 2021. Two years in Córdoba followed, then a move to Newell's Old Bóyz in February 2023 for a fee in the region of €1.4 million. He spent two seasons there before CSKA Sofia brought him to Bulgaria.
Since the move, Martino has barely been out of the side: alongside last season's cup-winning run, he has already featured in three league matches and five UEFA Europa League fixtures this campaign. He has not been capped by Argentina at senior level.
