About the player
Ali Maamar grew up moving between Anderlecht's academy and two other Belgian youth setups before returning to Brussels for good in 2019. He came through the club's ranks and was loaned to RSCA Futures, the club's development side playing in the professional pyramid, making his debut there in December 2022 and going on to make 26 appearances without scoring.
His breakthrough with the first team followed a familiar academy path: a professional contract in May 2024, a debut for Anderlecht's senior side in January 2025, and a new deal through 2028 signed within the year.
He has since featured for Morocco's Olympic team and made his senior debut for the national side in a friendly win over Madagascar in June 2026.
Born in Brussels to a family with Moroccan roots, he holds dual Belgian and Moroccan nationality but chose to represent Morocco internationally.
