Andrei Andonie Burcă

Burcă grew up in the youth system at FCM Bacău before starting his senior career in his home city, moving through Aerostar Bacău and SC Bacău. A free transfer took him to FC Botoșani in August 2016, where he made 104 appearances and scored four goals, laying the groundwork for the move that shaped his career.

CFR Cluj signed him for €100,000 in June 2019, and the four years that followed were productive. He won three consecutive Liga I titles, added the Supercupa României in 2020, and was named in the Liga I Team of the Season. His form at CFR Cluj also opened the door to the national team: he made his Romania debut against Austria in the UEFA Nations League in September 2020, and has since earned 47 caps and a goal, including a place in the squad for Euro 2024.

His performances in Cluj earned him a €1 million move to Saudi Arabia's Al-Okhdood in July 2023, where he scored six goals in 28 appearances — a notable return for a defender. A free transfer to Baniyas in the UAE followed in July 2024. In July 2025 he signed for Yunnan Yukun in the Chinese Super League, a deal reported to include a personal contract offer of €1.2 million, on a contract running to the end of 2026.

Along the way he has had to manage a run of injuries, including a hip problem in February 2020 and separate knee and muscle issues in 2021, without those setbacks interrupting his run of titles and international call-ups.
