About the player
Demir Ege Tıknaz joined Braga in January 2026 in a deal worth €7m, potentially rising to €7.5m with add-ons, on a contract running to 2030.
Tıknaz is a product of Beşiktaş's academy in Istanbul, where he joined the youth ranks in 2014. He worked through the club's age groups for close to a decade, began training with the first team in 2021, and made his senior debut for Beşiktaş in 2023.
For the 2024/25 season he moved to Portugal on loan with Rio Ave.
His path with the Turkey national team followed a similar progression through the age groups, with caps at under-14, under-18, under-19 and under-21 level. He earned his first call-up to the senior side and made his debut on 11 June 2025 in a friendly against Mexico, which Turkey lost 1-0. It remains his only appearance for the national team to date, and he is yet to score.
