About the player
Dawid Gojny's route to the Ekstraklasa ran through the lower divisions of Polish football, well away from any spotlight. He started out at LKS Krzyżanowice before moving through Odra Wodzisław Śląski and KS ROW 1964 Rybnik, where he settled in as a regular over four seasons and 127 appearances. He joined Arka Gdynia.
At Arka the left-back has become one of the dressing room's senior figures, wearing the captain's armband. He has contributed three goals, before Arka won promotion to the Ekstraklasa by taking the I liga title in 2025. His most testing spell at the club came with an elbow fracture suffered in a goalless draw with Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała, an injury that ended his season early and forced Arka to rework their options at left-back.
Gojny's standing at the club was underlined this year when Arka moved to keep hold of him rather than let him leave. Interest from other sides, including GKS Tychy, surfaced in February 2026, but instead of a transfer the club handed him a contract extension through to the middle of 2028, choosing continuity in defence over a sale.
